End Times Bible Study
End Times bible study
End Times Bible Study is so very important in the day in which we live. If only understanding the end times was a simple as checking a date on our calendars, we could relax enjoying that we have lots of time to sew up our earthly affairs and expand the message of salvation. On the contrary, Jesus says none of us will know the time of his second coming. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the heaven angles, but my father only.” This vital message from Matthew 24:36 reminds us that we must forever follow God’s word and his will, for we cannot know the day or hour.
God has showed his will through Bible prophecy so that while we will not know actually when, we will be capable to witness these prophecies coming to fruition and gain a bigger understanding of the end times. This again is why end times bible study is so very vital. These events are most perfectly prophesied in the specific parts of the Bible to be studied:
The NT is filled with passages declaring the reality of the second coming of Christ.
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Hebrews 9:28)
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:30-31)
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
The Book of Revelation
The book of Revelation is full of biblical prophecies, but the debate is whether most of it has already taken place. It is definitely a book largely consisting of symbolic and apocalyptic language, consequently much of it cannot be taken in a literal manner.
The Old Testament
Although there are many today that believe that the OT speaks largely of the end times, the truth is that it mainly speaks about the end of the OT era, making way for the long awaited Messiah. The book of Daniel for instance speaks about this very thing, despite those that think it refers to an antichrist and millennial earthly reign of Christ.
Remember the context
Many verses in the Bible can take on fully different meanings when they are considered on their own, so it is important to check the context of the passage to clearly know the end time. The more you study His Word, then you will be better prepared to understand the end time prophecies contained in the Bible and make sense of events present and past.
